"Can't Hardly Wait" by Ken L (Rap Artist from California(CA))

Ken L's latest EP is "Can't Hardly Wait." It's a solid collection of hard-hitting rap songs culled from a variety of urban music influences. The title track "Can't Hardly Wait" is a more fun-loving hip hop song with Ken L rapping about his own life. "Go Girl!!!" has more of a serious beat to it, utilizing a punchy drum line and brass section highlights - and reminiscent of a New York style rap song. "Whut U Wanna Do???" features the rapper rhyming over a more club-friendly, energetic beat. Ken L's "Can't Hardly Wait" EP is a showcase for his evocative lyrics against a backdrop of varied and spirited hip hop rhythms. If you appreciate bold and brisk styled rhyming and beats, then "Can't Hardly Wait" is an EP you should check out. WARNING-CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

"Obama my President Vision of Change" by Kiss Royale (Rap Artist from the United Kingdom)

"Obama my President Vision of Change" is more than just an homage to our first African-American president, but a catchy album as well. Some tracks feel like classic hip-hop, some are straight out of the club, but all contain well-crafted lyrics. Songs like "Showdown" will get you up and moving. Others like "J-doub Show" focus on what needs to be said. Kiss Royale's CD shouldn't collect dust with your Obama collector plates and memorabilia. "Obama My President Vision of Change" belongs in your CD player.

"Hitmaker" by Glaze GetEm (Rap Artist from Michigan(MI))

Glaze GetEm's new album goes by the name of "HitMaker." This album is recorded in the contemporary and mainstream Rap/Hip-Hop style, with auto-tuned vocals and catchy hooks designed to make everyone in the club hit the dance floor. The track "Bring Her to Da Back" is an energetic and high-paced Rap song that moves between minimalist beats and a dance-friendly and appealing chorus. "Froot Loops" is a grittier song and may be the most head-nodding tune of the album, as it employs quickly cut-up lyrics and dancing tremble tones throughout the song. Things are slowed down for "Told You So," a more ballad like song in which Glaze GetEm lets their effects-heavy vocals be the center of the song. This album will appeal to those who enjoy club-friendly, high tempo Rap similar to the likes of Lil Wayne or T-Pain. If that's the type of music that is up your alley then pick up Glaze GetEm's "HitMaker" and get grooving today.

"SCR Exclusive" by J-Mill (Rap Artist from New York(NY))

"SCR Exclusive" is the latest Hip-Hop/Rap EP released by Harlem's own J-Mill. It is an EP geared toward mature audiences and does contain explicit language and lyrics. "City Boy" is a track in which J-Mill tells about his new life back in the city after some time in jail over a relatively cheerful Hip-Hop beat that features a creative sampling of Journey's classic tune, "Don't Stop Believing." However, the title track, "SCR Exclusive" has a grander and gritty beat in which J-Mill rhymes with more aggressiveness. While the last track, "Brand New" is a more laid back, very New-York sounding, Rap track in which he seems to have some special lady in mind. Whether you are a fan of Cameron or just like that New York, grandiose, style of Rap then it would suit you to introduce yourself to J-Mill and his album, "SCR Exclusive."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Doit4urself Productions with a GrIndie Award for the CD "WEDOINGIT4OURSELVES VOL.3 (STREETZ R TALKING)"

Doit4urself Productions has creatively routed a direction for up and coming Rap/Hip-Hop artists with their latest release, "WEDOINGIT4OURSELVES VOL.3 (STREETZ R TALKING)." This album features a diverse selection of talented local/international artists who perform their songs with powerful and invigorating energy. The entire album is compiled of rap vocals, and each rapper exhibits their easy-flowing rhymes. The track titled "Move It," by Ra-man Ft Miki, features a smooth rapping style. The lyrics throughout the album tend to be explicit and contain adult language and themes, as listeners will hear on songs such as "Get Em" and "Bring Tha Heat," but it doesn't interfere with the talent versatility these artists display. Original and artistic use of synth and percussive sounds are heard on each track while the piano on "Lonely Dayz" has a sort of mysterious feel. RadioIndy is pleased to present MC Comeczechmi with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Cold War Continues"

If you're looking for some hip-hop/rap with a new comical twist, then the debut album "The Cold War Continues," by MC Comeczechmi, is just what you need. As a native of Russia and then moving to America as a child, MC Comeczechmi found the gift of music through rhymes. He has taken his rhymes and rhythms and compiled a collection of humorous tunes with bouncy, grooving beats. His wordplay is made of broken English, and it works, making the entertaining lyrics give this album a new spin on rap. Fast and furious are just two words describing the amusing tune "Get Raw (Drink, Drink)." Turn the tables of time and you're back in the Old Russian country with the song "Da Old Country" featuring the sound of the accordion. MC Comeczechmi's "The Cold War Continues" is a great album to hear, especially if you're in the mood for rap/hip-hop with fun beats and lyrics.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jenuine J.A. with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Burden of Proof"

Jenuine J.A.'s latest rap record "The Burden of Proof" is a great throwback to the early sounds of that genre. Jenuine isn't exactly a hip-hop artist as his songs rely more on his lyrics and the instrumentation than just beats. The opening track, "Dyin' to Floss" says it all, as you can hear how Jenuine wants his words to be heard and not lost under a sea of electronic drums. His struggle to be heard is evident throughout the disc as he lets listeners in on his personal hurdles in becoming a successful rap star. Just listen to "What's Your Plan?" and you will feel what he has gone through. The title of "The (Lost) Art of Storytellin'" is a truthful statement about where most rap songs are at today. They rely more on abusive lyrics, instead of just telling a story. If you want to hear rap music the way it should be done, you won't be disappointed when you hear "The Burden of Proof."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Gnos-tel-jah with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Becoming"

Hip-Hop takes a strange trip with Gnos-Tel-Jah and their latest album of original (and we mean original) material on "Becoming." Comprised of 2 male vocalists and 1 female vocalist, Gnos-Tel-Jah offers up a psychedelic ride of Hip-Hop fused with rock and spoken word. "Midnight Swang" represents the rap side to their debut disc with easy flowing rhymes and is reminiscent of the group Outkast. When you break it all down, Rap/Hip-Hop is basically spoken words with beats underlying the phrases. The band shows their love for this genre with 13 "chapters" which are 13 separate spoken tracks. Any fan of Outkast, Gnarls Barkley, or of spoken word will thoroughly enjoy "Becoming" as it is a new and innovating CD.
